Once upon a time, there was a man named Jon who lived on a small farm with his feathered friends, a flock of chickens. On Valentine’s Day, Jon wanted to do something special for his feathered friends. So, he went out to the barn and made a bunch of heart-shaped treats for the chickens.

When he brought the treats out to the coop, the chickens were delighted and started pecking away at the goodies. But Jon quickly realized that he had made a mistake. The heart-shaped treats were so delicious that the chickens wouldn’t stop eating them, and Jon was worried that they would get sick from all the sugar.

So, Jon hatched a plan. He dressed up in a red hoodie and a heart-shaped hat and danced around the coop, singing a silly song about love and chickens. The chickens were so entertained by Jon’s antics that they forgot all about the treats and started clucking along to the song.

From that day forward, Jon and the chickens celebrated Valentine’s Day in their own special way, always with a silly song and a good laugh. And although they never forgot the treats, they always remembered the love and laughter that came with the holiday.

I don’t know that it’s impressive, but our 55 pound pit bull is afraid of the chickens, despite that the rooster we keep is an exceedingly gentle soul.

Haven’t had chickens for years. Live in town. Now we are building a coop and we can have 6. Installing one of these doors on the new coop for my soon to be babies would be wonderful!

I first got my own chickens when I was about 8 years old for my birthday, I really enjoyed keeping chickens and fast forward on a few years was into the way of breeding chickens, being able to enjoy the joys of raising chicks and being able to supply some friends with lovely hens, now I breed bantams and find them great birds to teach beginners with, owning and raising chickens is truly an amazing experience and I wouldn’t give it up
I have recently been influenced by some amazing people on breeding quality show stock, I now strive to improve my breed and teach people more about the breed standards too, I love little pet chickens but do think it’s important to have a few people trying to keep those older breeds preserved and the qualities of each.
