- Unbox the chicken door package
- Cut a hole or resize the original chicken door hole
- Screw the chicken door to the chicken coop with 6 screws
- Put four AA batteries(1.5 V) into the battery holder and connect them to the wire
- Setting the mode from Light mode, Time mode, and Manual mode

Setup steps
Light mode
The automatic chicken coop door will open and and close automatically by sensing the light intensity (light level from 0-100) around the chicken coop, in this mode, the door will have a default delay (20-minute) when the light level reaches the setting light level, this is in order to prevent any accidental opening or closing of the door when the light sensor is obstructed for short periods of time. You can add additional delay minutes but can not go below 15 minutes.
In Light Mode, you need to set:
- Set the open light level, Open @ 20 (0-100)
- Set the close light level, Close @ 20 (0-100)
- Set the open delay, Open Delay 0 m (from 0-60 min, optional)
- Set the close delay, Close Delay 0 m (from 0-60 min, optional)
Time mode
Once you set the exact time you want the door to open and close, the Chickcozy automatic chicken coop door will open and close automatically as your setting, there is no any delay in this mode. If your backyard can't get enough light, we suggest you choose time mode to control your automatic chicken coop door.
In Time Mode, you need to set:
- Set the time, Time now xx:xx (Set the current time)
- Set the open time, Open @ xx:xx (This is the time to open)
- Set the close time, Close @ xx:xx (This is the time to close)
Manual mode
Manual mode can be used whenever you need to open or close the door, it means you can use it when your automatic chicken coop door is in light mode or time mode, just press and hold the OK button, the door will open/close.
In Manual Mode, you can control by pressing OK button for 5 seconds.
